This was one of my favorite maternity sessions to date. After tossing around several ideas for locations, this expecting mommy came to me with the idea of doing an in-home lifestyle pregnancy session but still incorporating some gorgeous gowns. I loved that idea. She came to my house a few days before the session to try on some gowns and she was so sweet, I knew that we would click well together and have a great session.
When I arrived at their home the morning of the session, I was greeted with COFFEE, cinnamon rolls and the music of Chris Stapleton. I am a coffee-aholic and a country music lover (esp. Chris Stapleton) so I knew that these were my peeps.
One of the reasons (other than the fabulous couple that I was working with and the aforementioned coffee and Stapleton) that this session was so much fun was because I had the license to incorporate some creative shooting into our session. I utilized five different lenses (two of which were Lensbaby creative effect lenses) and film. I have been dabbling in film photography in my personal work but this was the first time that I incorporated it into a professional session.
This mommy was absolutely glowing and gorgeous in every shot. It was such a joy to be there to document the love and excitement this beautiful couple had for each other and for their baby on the way. It was so clear to see how much this baby was already loved. Here are my favorites (there are lots…I could’ve shared them all) from this Charlotte maternity session.
