I shoot so many sessions in wide-open spaces like grassy fields, parks and gardens and I love all of those for sure. But, it is a rare treat when I get to photograph a family in Uptown. Our beautiful city of Charlotte, NC shines and gives so much life and color to family pictures.
This Wisconsin family is based in Charlotte temporarily and Mom desired to document their time here with photos of their family in front of the Charlotte skyline. Our session was delayed a few days because of the protests uptown but when it finally took place we had a beautiful evening and a gorgeous sunset (be sure to scroll all the way to the end to see that pretty sky). We started at the Mint Museum, strolled along the city streets to Romare Bearden Park and then capped of our fun family session on the rooftop of one of my favorite parking decks with views of the city skyline, Bank of America Stadium and pretty light. The deck was recently painted and the bright yellow parking space lines perfectly complimented the boys’ bright yellow pants. I love how the colors add to the composition of these images.
Here are some of my favorites from this beautiful family’s session.
