Charlotte Family Photographer / Gorgeous Family Session Fort Mill

I love photographing this family so much!  I have taken their photos seven times now and every time, their session becomes one of my most favorites.  You’ve probably seen their beautiful faces on my website—a lot!

 It seems like mom and I are always perfectly in sync with our visions for the session and we don’t really even talk about it.  She asked me if I had any new locations in mind.  I told her that I was really in love with the peach orchards in Ft. Mill.  She quickly agreed that that sounded perfect and voila-that was the extent of our “planning”.  Well, that and I wrote to her a couple of days before the session and asked her if by chance they had a bubble machine and they did!

 What is funny is that I have had in mind a mother-daughter session with frilly tu-tu skirts so I was totally thrilled when we got out of the car and I say how mommy and daughter were dressed-gah!   This family is always picture perfectly coordinated and that is not and easy thing to do with a family of six.

 The location is breathtaking.  We found a marshy area first that took my breath away.  It is so perfectly South Carolina!  It’s amazing how only 45 minutes from our homes in the Lake Norman area can make a huge difference in terrain.

 There was a swinging bridge that the kids couldn’t wait to take pictures on but me and mom not so much!  I was a nervous wreck with the family on that bridge so I had to promise the kids some bubble fun to get them down. 

 At sunset, we entered the orchard because the light during the golden hour is breathtaking then.  I love using the light for spectacular images and so it is no surprise that these are my favorites.  I also love using the environment in an artistic way to frame my subjects.  For this session, I used the peach trees (out of focus) for that framing.  I felt a little bit like paparazzi spying from the trees to get my shots. 

 I think the reason I always love photographing this family is their playfulness and ease in front of the camera.   If a child has a meltdown (and all kids have melt downs especially on photo shoots), they don’t get stressed out.  They go with the flow and that positive energy keeps everyone calm.  They trust me to get beautiful photos and we do. 

 So, once again this family’s session became an instant favorite.  The gallery was enormous and as you can see my favorites were very hard to narrow down.
